Sew and stitch.

I found the pattern for this table runner in a magazine called SEW Home and Style. It appealed to me because I could use up some odds and ends of fabric in its construction. I'm delighted with the finished product and it sits nicely on the dining room table.

My second finish this week was a pair of socks for me. I like Regia yarn because it is easy to work with, it does not split and it produces cosy socks.

Anthea completed this lovely shawl for herself. The pattern is called, "Jenny's Faith Shawl" and has been worked in King Cole "Big Value" 4 ply yarn. Zoom in and have a closer look at the edges of the shawl. Beautiful work!

Janice has been at it again! Yes, those rabbits have been breeding in her craft room! The blue bunnies are for the Bluebell creche that she volunteers at. What a busy woman! The little chap in the first photo is a  RAF cadet which 1271 Squadron will present to a visiting officer. These little guys are well sought after!

Roberta is always busy with the pins! This week she completed a warm jumper for herself. The yarn is a DK  ICE yarn that she got from Norma. There is some weight in this jumper! Ideal for these chilly days.

Isabel loves her socks! Again it is ICE yarn from Norma and this stuff is beautifully soft to the touch. These socks feature a lace pattern and a star toe finish.

Lisa made a cushion for Fiona. The yarn motif is hand-dyed and hand spun by Lisa. The things you can do when you get a new studio!!!!!!

Gorgeous George!

Gorgeous George stood majestically, proudly displaying his royal red wiastcoat. Well, it had to be red as he was  knitted by Margaret. She created him from a kit and added button eyes. Such a cute little guy!

Janice had completed an amazing rainbow baby blanket using a ripple pattern. The colours are so eye-catching. I am quickliy becoming a fan of rainbow blankets. I shall add this to my list of things to try......at some point.

Ponchos are back in fashion! I had a snazzy blue tartan poncho with white fringing that my mum made for me when I was a teenager! Now where did I put? Norma has been busy creating a range of childrens' crocheted ponchos. This is the second size and has been worked in Aran yarn. Fab.

This pretty lilac child's bag was crocheted by Kathleen using crocodile stitch. Some little girl will be delighted with this.

The poncho and hat set were also made by Kathleen for a friend's granddaughter to be. I love the detail on the hat. The second poncho is for Kathleen's own granddaughter, lucky girl. Ponchos are becoming popular!

This attactrtive scarf was crocheted in half an hour by Kathleen! Now this could become a new fad!

 
 I am always amazed at the variety of crafts that our group participate in. This week Jemma had completed a necklace for a lady who normally buys her jewellery in Dubai but now commissions Jemma to create for her. Jemma has been making jewellery for a number of years now and everything she makes is for sale. I particularly love the bracelet. Very stylish.

This fabulous yarn has been hand-dyed by Lisa and is called Ocean Speckled. It is  4 ply sock weight and I want some! I need some!

These "For The Love of Yarn" keyrings are for those yarn emergency moments.........you just break the seal and .......KNIT! A very clever marketing ploy by Lisa. These should go like hot cakes!

My deepest apologies Lisa, technology has beaten me again! This pretty little sun dress and headband were crocheted by Lisa using one of her own colourways, called Rasperry Ripple. Just to compliment the garment, Lisa made a matching button! Now, how clever is that?

Paula bought some eyelash yarn in Watt Bros and made this amazing scarf. It is so soft to the touch. Ideal for those cold winter days.

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A stranger marched into the room and demanded to know if this Balaclava was the correct size for our group charity, Hats for Seafarers. That stranger revealed herself to be Isabel. The answer to her question was.........Yes! "Well, I'm never doing another one. It was really boring to knit!" I thought Isabel modelled it beautifully and I'm sure someone will be delighted with it as they sail around the icebergs.

Anthea was really thrilled with crochet hooks and stitch markers that Lisa had made for her. Anthea had requested Harry Potter and Dr Who themed goods. If you look carefully, you will be impressed with Lisa's inventiveness. I love Harry Potter's owl!

Lisa had completed a cute hat for her new arrival. The ears are really cute. My apologies to Lisa. I had rotated the picture on the iPad and was feeling rather smug with myself, but the PC fought back and refused to play ball.

I completed another pair of socks for myself. This time I used some of Lisa's hand dyed-yarn, which I adore.

June completed this amazing Granny Square blanket as a gift for a baby called Pippa. As you can see, June, has added extra interest to the blanket by making  each square different.

Sally has been busy creating two intricate cotton scarves for herself. The first is knitted lace and the second is crocheted. I was amazed at the weight in each garment and I am sure Sally will get great use out of them during our balmy summer evenings.

Morag has something to display each week. What a busy crafter! This week she has completed this lovely green baby hat with tassels.

Anthea has been experimenting with dyeing her hand spun yarns. This colourway is called Fruit Salad and is self striping. It is a Merino/ silk blend and is sock weight. Come on Anthea, we can't wait to see what you create with this delicious yarn!
