Undercover work!

Magda was keen to model this underskirt that Anthea had made as part of her college course work. The underskirt is in the style used around 1600/ 1700. Very elegant!

Norma is full of good ideas for Christmas. Above is a snowman Christmas wreath made for a craft fair and below is some personalised Christmas bunting.

Roberta brought in a quilt she made for the spare room using her new sewing machine. I love blue!

 Roberta also had time to make some Twiddlemuffs for our Dementia charity and a cowl scarf for herself. Busy woman!

Janice created another Twiddlemuff and tested her new sewing machine by making 11 Beatson bags. I'm beginning to think that she is running a sweat shop at home!

Stephanie also had time to sew 4 Beatson bags  this week. Those giant flowers are great.

 Lisa has been working on a granny shrug for the girls. It is actually a giant granny
 square that has been cunningly folded and joined to create a shrug. Little Bella is not so little any more and Lisa made this little dress to showcase her yarn at Yarndale. Apparently, having Bella act as a model at Yarndale was a big hit with the customers.

Fiona O has been experimenting with new ideas. This tea light holder looks spectacular!

Caroline was so chuffed when Fee made this little keepsake for Mr and Mrs Kelly's wedding date.

Jillian knitted a cozy jumper for Jemma using Rowan Fazed Tweed. Jillian only had a picture to remind herself of the quilt that she made as a baby gift. She even embroidered the baby's name on it.

Magda wanted some new table mats to brighten up her home so she made them herself. Stunning!

I hope you are collecting bits and pieces for Linda's Shoe Box charity.

Lisa is still collecting bigger sized hats & squares for blankets  for Yorkhill ( now based at the new Southern General).

Autumn Days.

 Kat completed this smokers jacket for her lovely Dad! She used two strands of DK to create a chunky yarn. Kat has no idea how the yarn came into her possession! It was in her stash and had been there for some time. The label said, "Made in Bulgaria!"

 Isabel has been on "Granny Duty" and has been unable to attend the group more often. Not that she is complaining! Isabel is loving every minute she spends with her grandchildren. She had fun making a Twiddlemuff and crocheted a square for Lisa's charity for Sick Kids.

Stephanie made four Beatson bags this week and then adopted some fabric donated by Fran. A big thanks to Fran for bringing in  that lovely fabric. It will be put to good use.

I finally got to the end of this little jacket and hat which will reside in my "box" until it is needed. I've used this pattern several times because it is so practical and easy to do. This time I used some W.I. yarn that had been sitting in my stash.

Roberta knitted her husband a second jumper to keep him cozy during the winter. Lucky man!

I love the look of a ripple blanket and Jill makes it look so easy to do. This one is for a friend's baby.

Linda loves to use up her odds and ends of yarn that have been left over from other projects. This lap blnket is stunning!

Kathleen was just finishing off this pram blanket which caused a big of a stir! She then gave a master class to a wee crowd of crochet enthusiasts on how to do the bpbble stitch using two strands of DK to create chunky. It Looked fab!

Tuesday 6th October is the RED Challenge in the Management Suite.

Fran and Elaine  gave a report of their visit to the Motherwell W.I. They loved it! It is on the third Wednesday of each month.

I end on a sad note this week. Karen's wee Granny ( Margaret's Mum) passed away on Friday morning. She was a lovely lady and a life long crafter. Our thoughts and prayers are with the whole family.

What a HOOT!

I love this owl! I would give him a happy home if he was up for adoption. This handsome chap is straight out of Harry Potter and was loving made by Lyn. Tu-wit -tu- woo!

Madga has always been a busy crafter. This week she was feeling the cold, winter chill and created a cosy green scarf with interesting edging. Below, you can see Magda wearing her new jumper which she completed this evening. I think Magda is now ready to face any winter weather that comes her way.

Fran completed this pink chunky cowl in double quick time! Winter forces us to be creative quickly.

The lovely Lisa has been making these clever stitch markers for quite some time. What I love about them is the fact that they remind you which hook you were working with. With so many things going round in my head, I could certainly do with several of these.

Isabel has more crafting time now that she has retired. This week She completed a pom-pom hat with yarn she got at a swap night. It's no loss what a friend gets!

Fiona has come on  leaps and bounds with her crochet. This magnificent poncho has been made for her niece. I bet the wee girl will be delighted.

Stephanie has been working overtime with her knitting needles. Boy Scouts rub two sticks together to make a fire but Our Stephanie can KNIT with two sticks! I am very fond of this pattern and I just adore the wee hat that has been made to complete the set.

The two cardigans were knitted just for fun! Stephanie likes to work with a variety of patterns and this is a great way to use up some of her enormous yarn stash.

I saved the best for last! This  Elf set is so cute! I could see this working in many different colour combinations. The bootees have a surprise in them. Stephanie included little bells in the toes! Hearing the tinkling of fairy bells every time the baby kicks his feet! Brilliant!

If you missed me on Tuesday night, I was away getting some winter sunshine. If you didn't miss me..........why not!
