Last night the Knitting Group hosted an Indian themed Baby Shower for Swati. As you know we love a baby shower! In our first picture you can see Swati with her lovely Mum, Sheila. To mark the occasion both ladies wore their saris and Swati wore the traditional set of jewellery for a mum to be. Sheila had made the jewellery as a surprise gift for her lovely daughter.
Every picture tells a story! As usual our members were generous and creative. This is what you missed.........
A special request photo opportunity involving me, Sheila, Swati, Janice and Stephanie.
This was from me. I was taking the photographs and was unable to appear on the other side of the camera.
The rest of the photographs show each gift with its donor.
This amazing shawl took only seven hours to complete!
Izzy was unable to attend last night and had asked Isabel to pass on her gift. The parcel was wrapped in fabric which Sheila will use to sew something marvelous for the new baby. Inside was one of Izzy's famous bags!
Yvonne brought down Mary's gift for her.
Toys for the new baby or could the puzzle ball be intended for the grown-ups?
Donna was unable to come along tonight but had sent a lovely gift.
Elaine and Linda created a basket full of soft toys for the baby.
Gifts from Esther and .........sorry, I have forgotten who the other person was! Sorry!
Such a beautiful event! Terrific gifts and great companionship. We even got to try some Indian nibbles and Sheila made sweet pastries. Yum!
The next Baby Shower will be Lisa's on 5th August. That will be a Scottish themed event and should be great fun! I wonder if Lisa will wear a kilt!
The regular weekly blog will follow in a couple of days.
