Pretty in Pink!

Stephanie likes to give herself a challenge by attempting new and interesting patterns. This lovely yarn has a sparkle to it and the buttons are just to die for. Both were internet buys and the pretty set is for her box. I'm sure Stephanie could stock a shop with the contents of her box!

That talented lady, Magda, had an interesting finish for us this week. This hat was all her own work! The yarn was hand spun by Magda and she even had time to experiment with hand dyeing techniques. This colour would do me fine. Just watch this space for the next installment of Magda's adventures with yarn.

On the left is a beautiful quilt that Magda had made as a gift for Miss Isabella and on the right is an amazing blanket that Magda created for Zuzanna. Look at the flowers! Stunning!

My friend Gran Sheila has been busy with the knitting needles. Sheila has always knitted and sewed for her family and grandchildren and now continues to knit little hats for charity. This little set are for the Royal Maternity Hospital. Not bad for a youngster of 87 years.

Isabel has returned from her holidays and has completed her new winter blanket. It started off as a poncho but Isabel had doubts about how fashionable it was.............and then turned it into a fabulous blanket. Good call.

Janice has been breeding rabbits and bibs again! This set is for Stephanie's box! I would love to get a look inside that box!

Fee had created this Frog for her friend as a birthday present and had given it away before she had time to bring it along to show to the group. This handsome frog is now loved and cherished in his forever home. Lucky chap!

Lady Isabella was delighted to model her new dress that her mum, Lisa, had just completed on Tuesday night. The yarn was a supermarket buy. Adorable.

Lisa also had time to crochet a hat for the charming Callum who feels the cold somewhat while undergoing treatment. Callum loves his hat and is especially proud of the fact that his Mum made it for him.

Lorraine crocheted a pretty poppy for her Breast Cancer charity. If you look carefully you will notice that the centre of the poppy has been done with eye-lash yarn.

Phyllis crocheted this Harry Potter inspired Hogwarts scarf and hat set for grandson. The Owl hat was for her granddaughter.

The Elsa hat from Frozen was also crocheted by Phyllis for another granddaughter! The blue and white hat is for another grandson who supports Chelsea FC. I wonder if the whole family have had garments made recently? Such a busy lady!

Where did you get that Hat? Where did you get that hat? I don't know the rest of the song ! Lucky escape for you! Anthea created this hat which is based on a Cabbage Patch Doll and is modelled by the lovely Isabella.

Anthea has managed to find time to make an amazing Road Trip scarf for herself. She has finally completed this corner to corner blanket for her daughter in Hogwarts colours. Stunning!

Margaret must be the most organised crafter for Christmas. I love that cat! Sadly, he is spoken for. Someone else will give him a home for Christmas.

Fiona Orr made this gorgeous baby blanket in Rico Pompon. Below you will see that Fiona has matched the little blanket with a lovely baby beret. The shot is in close up so that you can admire the workmanship. That is my story and I'm sticking to it!

Apologies to Gillian who brought a cosy jumper to show. I did take a photo of it but the gremlins took it! Gillian, please bring in your jumper so I can photograph it again.

Sock it to them!

Karen has been busy knitting socks to give to friends she has been unable to see due to work and study commitments. Sock knitting is second nature to Karen and she rattled these socks up in no time at all.

I had a finish this week. This is my hitch-hiker scarf done in some of Lisa's lovely sock weight 4 ply yarn. I just love the sparkle in it!

Margaret is really well advanced with her preparations for Christmas. The Santa loo roll cover is particularly handsome. Look at the whiskers! Rudolf looks very smart in his festive colours.

Lyn has also been busy creating a family of hedgehogs and little dolls to put in Linda's shoe box charity. If you have time and the inclination then Linda would be delighted to receive any knitted goods for this worthy cause.

See that Phyllis, she is one clever lady! Norma had asked for a "CAT" shawl and this is what Phyllis produced. Wow! is an understatement. Fab!!!!!!!!!!!

Norma loves to crochet in her wee crafty house in the garden. The flower pram blanket is superb! the corner to corner blanket has a very subtle colour change going on. I don't know which one I like the best.

Susan has just completed this 3 ply shawl for a friend in work who is expecting his first baby. Actually, his wife is! This is a spectacular present and the workmanship is so fine.

Janice is another of our busy beavers. This week her finishes include a cosy little hoody AND a Christmas decoration. Janice saw this idea on TV but did not want to buy the kit at £18 because she had plenty of fabric in her stash. She just worked out how to adapt the idea and do it her way. Another clever lady. This is so effective.

Catriona loves knitting "Di's Designs." This is the Sunday Best pattern for a little prince and has been knitted using the Womens Institute yarn in 4 ply. The bootees are her own pattern based on a pair of boottees that someone did for Catriona's son when he was this size. Catriona just counted the stitches and rows and played about until she was able to produce something similar. By the way, this little ensemble is for sale.

Lorraine has been making items for  Breast Cancer Charity raffle. Above you can see a little Ali-baba basket trinket box.

This little heart hanger is so girly.it would look great anywhere.

And finally, Lorraine made this e-reader case. If you look at the opened case you will find that Lorraine has included a lovely little label.

Stephanie was given this yarn by her daughter. She had attempted to knit a bag with it and then thought that Mum would make a better job of it. The handles were an internet buy and cost just a few pence. Stephanie had some left over yarn and used it to make a matching scarf. Mums are wonderful!

Roberta crocheted two pram blankets. The first was plain and the with the second blanket she put her cross-stitch skills to good use and added a Teddy. Now, that is clever!

Roberta also had time to make a giant granny square baby blanket just in case! Another lady with a Just in case box!

Magda is full of tricks. She spun this merino super wash herself and plans to dye it herself. A very independent lady!

This is great! Jill has just completed an aviator helmet for for her friend's grandson who is seven months old.
Not a boring baby hat. He will be the talk of the town. Lucky boy.

Cakes R US!

And I thought no one would have time to bake anything! this was just to put us in the mood for the FINAL of the Great British Bake Off! Yum! I had 3 samples of loveliness but one or two of our little group managed to pass themselves quite nicely and went back for more. Everything was delicious but I did happen to notice that the chocolate brownies went down a treat. I'm sure we will be able to winkle the recipe out of Aileen at some point. This event was such a great idea. It generated a great deal of excitement and I am sure it will be repeated. Soon, I hope.

Look at these little hats! Kathleen made one hat for her little granddaughter and the other two just in case!
At home Kathleen lets a DOLL model the hats to see how effective they look. The doll is called Hattie!

Noreen  has created this handsome chap for a friend who wanted a snowman toilet roll cover for Christmas. I wonder if this is a new trend. Is anyone else involved in this new craze? Am I the last to hear about it? I'll think about it later.

Lorraine completed this amazing snood. I know what that is! It is crocheted in a cotton and wool mix and it has a label! Look closely! A range of labels can be bought in John Lewis to add to your creations. Such a nice touch.

Now we have a before and after photograph. The first picture shows Lorraine's crochet hook roll. The second reveals the crochet hook roll in all its splendour! A great way to organise your hooks.

The little thistle could become anything. Lorraine is undecided. It could become a drawer freshener or a keyring. The beauty of this stylish little make is that it could become any manner of things.

As you know, Phyllis is a very busy crafter. This week she has completed some Christmas stockings and some cute Christmas pudding covers. A real novelty. Phyllis is always full of great ideas.

The Narissa shawl has been made with bamboo yarn that Phyllis got at the swap night.

Oh! Jings! Crivens and help ma Bob! I forgot to write down the details for this beautiful blanket. I will give you that information next week. Could the person concerned please let me know. Sorry, I must have been gabbing. Not like me at all!

Roberta has been working on another little baby cardigan. How does she find the time! As usual it looks great.

And just when I thought it was all over, Someone came out with this little dolls set made by Esther. I was blown away by this beautiful little set. Esther you are a star!
