Growing and Expanding!

Here is Julia with her finished Santa as promised. He looks amazing and is so cuddly. He's a lot bigger than we were all expecting. Didn't seem quite that size watching Julia knitting away. He is fantastic though and was admired by all. Julia is now working on a baby cardigan from a pile of patterns Joyce was giving out a few months ago. In a weak it looked like she had made a fair amount of progress.

Last week was quite exciting. We had 5 new members come along. Two are bringing along two friends next week. Another is also bringing along a friend. We had someone enquiring about our group and has promised to come along next week where she will learn to knit. If all these people do come back that will bring our group up to a total of 28 members (not including little Adam). Amongst our new members we had another beginner knitter who is learning through knitting a scarf. We had one person bring along her latch work which was fun to watch. Another was crocheting a scarf and another was knitting using some lovely funky fur.

We are still on the winter theme. Lots of scarves, sweaters and baby clothes.

On Tuesday there Janette asked if we could start up a group in the city centre Borders store. Sort of like a sister group. Ginnie the sock lady had also suggested this a few months back. Having spoken to the store manager he is more than happy for us to use some space in the basement of his store. The quietest time would be a Sunday morning from 10.00am until 12.00pm. All we need to do is organise starting dates. If people don't want to come along to two groups they can choose which day is best for them each week.

Speaking of Sock lady. She left a link to where the sock book can be purchased under comments. I'm adding it here Incas anyone who wants it misses it. The book can be purchased from iknit London.

Last but not least, a couple of our members are unwell. Helen was unable to come along due to sickness on Tuesday there. Her daughter, Laura, has also been ill for a while now. Just wanted to let you know we are thinking of you.
