A Sock Lesson

A while back I posted a photograph of Aileen working on one of the more unusual projects we've had. She was working on a tapestry doorstop. She has now finished it and it really does look lovely. Was very much admired by the rest of us (had to wrestled from Dawn's hands).

We had two new members along. Our first new members since we moved. A big welcome to Anne and Lesley. Anne even brought along some baby items she finished for Linda. Perfect for the cold weather settling in.

Donna has also been preparing. This time for Christmas. She has finished her second pair of sock. These lovely socks are for her mum.

The last few week Elaine has been working on some beading. Turns out she is making some decorations for her cakes. This one is going to be for an anniversary cake. The couple it is for is celebrating a pearl anniversary. The colours are purple and so Elaine has planned the decorations of the cake to suit.

Dawn asked me last week to show her how to knit the toe-up baby socks. I offered to show others whilst I was there and Donna took me up on it. After an evening of teaching they now both have the toes done. The first was by Donna who used some of her left over sock yarn to practise. The second is by Dawn (first attempt at socks and second time using dpns). She used a lovely cotton. I even gave them homework of 10 rounds so that I can teach them to do the heal.
